SENTILLION AND MICROSOFT SIGN SOFTWARE LICENSING AGREEMENT TO STREAMLINE ACCESS TO HEALTH DATA

Microsoft’s Amalga Unified Intelligence System Achieves Seamless Clinical Workflow By Embedding Sentillion’s Single Sign-On and Context Management Technology

ANDOVER, MA – June 23, 2009 – Sentillion, Inc. announced today that it has signed a licensing agreement with Microsoft Corp. in which Sentillion will supply its single sign-on (SSO) and context management technology to become a featured module of Microsoft Amalga Unified Intelligence System (UIS) 2009.

Amalga UIS addresses a common and critical challenge of healthcare providers — how to integrate vast amounts of clinical, administrative and financial data that flows in and out of disparate information systems, and tailor that information for use by physicians, nurses, administrative staff, analysts, laboratory technicians, researchers and administrators. Through the licensing agreement with Sentillion, Microsoft will offer Sentillion’s SSO and context management technology with Amalga UIS, enabling data to be delivered with patient context integrated into existing clinical workflows.

“Amalga UIS empowers clinicians and other healthcare professionals with a comprehensive, real-time view of patient health data previously locked away in separate IT systems,” said Mike Raymer, general manager, Microsoft Health Solutions Group. “But for clinicians and others to readily adopt and get the maximum value out of a new platform like Amalga UIS, it needs to become an inherent part of the clinical workflows that drive the patient care delivery process. Our collaboration with Sentillion is designed to achieve that level of integration.”

Key to Microsoft’s selection of Sentillion software for Amalga UIS is its ability to integrate all types of clinical applications, regardless of whether they are Web, Windows or legacy systems.  Amalga UIS will use Sentillion’s Bridge technology, which is a flexible, extensible and uniform mechanism for interfacing to applications in order to achieve SSO and context management.

“It is truly an honor to collaborate with Microsoft to provide an important component for the Amalga UIS data aggregation solution,” said Paul Roscoe, president, Sentillion.  “Sentillion is committed to the vision Microsoft has for Amalga UIS and we believe that our combined offering will unify systems data and behavior, turn information into health intelligence and critical knowledge and ultimately, drive positive changes in both clinical and IT practices.”

This new offering will be sold directly by Microsoft with the Amalga UIS platform.
