This is very simple and easy to use and if you have read this blog long enough you have seen other posts about Trialx.   I did a few checks myself and it came back very quickly via Twitter.  Obviously this is a quick check just to see imagewhat is available and gets the job done nicely.  If you frequent this blog often enough, there’s also the TrialX widget you can use as well for a quick look to see what clinical trials are available.  This is a good place to start.

For the ultimate results and a custom match, it is still best to integrate the search with your Google Health or Microsoft HealthVault PHR, and soon there’s additional EHR integration in the future.  Back to Twitter and finding a quick result though, you can’t beat it.  It sure is a lot faster than navigating the Clinical Trials.Org site.

Now You Can Talk to Twitter and Find Clinical Trials

Twitter is emerging as a popular method of expression and communication through short updates (or micro-blogging) and has seen rapid growth in the last few months. The service is used by people to "update" what they are doing and apprising them of "what’s happening" by following updates of others. There are estimated 4-6 millions users of Twitter sending more than 2 million messages every day.

All you need is to QuTweet (query tweets pronounced cute-tweets) us at TrialX (@trialx), put in the keyword “CT” (for Clinical Trial) followed by your health profile (see example below)

As soon as you tweet us, the app will work behind the scene, sending the tweet to our 'tweet parser' through the Twitter API. After processing in about a minute, we’ll send you a reply tweet with a tinyurl link to the TrialX page containing matching trials as per your QuTweet.

This is the widget that is on the blog at all times, on all pages and you can search from here too!

Overall it’s a quick and simple search to find Clinical Trials and an open door to enroll and get set up and connected with an investigator.  BD
